No matter how much I prepare before leaving the house, it always feels like I've forgotten something (and most times I later realize that I have).

Here are some tips for being proactive when it comes to choosing and prepping diaper bags:

  1. Purchase a spacious, but non-bulky bag!

  2. Easy access is a MUST when you must have one hand on the baby so they don't fall off the changing table.

  3. Small pouches to separate things in the bag by category are an easy way to keep the bag organized and always find your things quickly.

  4. Only pack what you will absolutely need. Things like third changes of clothes in case of several blowouts, and millions of extra burp rags can be kept in an extra bag that always stays in your car for emergencies.

  5. Always make sure to have more than enough formula/breast milk (if you exclusively pump) for the entire outing.

Recommended products: (Links to come!)

Mini Diaper Bag Bakpack Mominside Small Baby Diaper Bag with 11 pockets: I recently purchased a small diaper bag/backpack from Amazon that is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

It is super affordable, compact (while still roomy enough for all the necessities). and has all the features of a regular diaper bag like; insulated compartment, hidden pocket for your wallet, and a few pouches inside for organizing.

However, my favorite thing about this bag is that the zipper opens in the front, from one bottom corner to the other. This allows me to access what I have at the bottom of my bag without having to dig my hand in from the top without seeing what I need!

Patu Transparent Travel Tiletry Bag, Standing Waterprof Clear Pouch: I also purchased these clear pouches from Amazon that I will be using for the following items:

Pouch 1: Diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream

Pouch 2: Extra onesie, socks, bib, hat

Pouch 3: Extra pacifiers and clips

I hope these tips help a new mom leave the house with a little less stress and a lot less stuff!
